The second hybrid-style quartz clock is finished! This is a very thick, heavy, and solidly constructed piece. It was a commissioned piece, and thus is already spoken for.

From the artists perspective, commissions are both good and bad. On one hand, who wouldn’t want guaranteed money, and a hassle free sale? What is unfortunate, is that the work usually won’t be enjoyed by as many people, since it never makes it to the public gallery setting. For this piece, that negative may disappear, because the owner is considering showing it at the Comic Con Montreal this September!

Going foreword, there are three things I have in the works: First priority, is getting prepared for the NY show. More on that soon. Second, I already have another commission lined up for a hybrid. I’ll put up some drawings of it after the NY opening. Finally, I’ve designed what I think will be my first cast piece. This would be a very limited run quartz clock. I need to make it first, and take it in to see how much it would cost to get multiples made. Hopefully the price will be reasonable, and this direction will be successful.
